Soft Play Hire

I currently have a soft play hire business, we recently closed as I look after 3 kids under 5 all week and my partner doesn't want to do the delivering at weekends when he's been at work all week... fair enough.

My question???..... Would you rather pay to have the soft play delivered and set up for you

OR

Be able to collect the equipment for a cheaper price and set up yourself.

It would depend entirely on location and how much cheaper it would be. Benefits to both.

What would be best is if I had the option, pick-up for £x or delivery and set-up for £x extra.

Ugh no, I wouldn't want to set it up.

That comes with its own problems.

Delivered - definitely required. We have an estate car, but I doubt it would fit in. Wouldn't want the faff of hiring a van.

Set up - depends on what equipment it is. A range of soft blocks, fine I'll do it myself. Bouncy castles - I'd feel far happier if that sort of thing was set up for me. Though I have been happy to deflate/reinflate myself, but only when it's properly secured.

Delivered. Most people won't have a vehicle big enough to fit lots of soft play equipment in so they would probably have to hire a van to collect it and then again to return it. That in top of setting everything up would make the whole experience a huge faff so I doubt many would actually hire the equipment.

Delivered and set up - the convenience and 'as a service' aspect would be the whole point of hiring in the first place.

100% delivered and set up. I cba with the hassle.

I do think you should offer both options though, for those who dont want to pay extra for the delivery etc.

Delivered and set up.

You would need to look at prices though. We bought our own soft play set at Xmas and it was only £100 and that’s been played with every day since. If I only get it for 1-2 days I would want it much cheaper.

I'd be concerned about the safety aspect of someone setting up a bouncy castle outside - if not secured properly they can be very dangerous is high winds. I recall a child dying a few years ago when a (larger) bouncy castle was blown away by a strong gust.
