Fitbit and accuracy of sleep tracker 9 years old

My 9 year old (nearly 10) has a cheap fit bit, about 30 pounds. Since getting it yesterday he is obsessed with it. He begged me last night to download the app to my phone which I've done. He lay in bed last night very preoccupied with it, he has never fallen asleep easily and we usually have lots of walking around after I leave him for bed. He doesn't lie in in the morning much either. I didn't hear much last night though and I checked him at 11pm to find him seemingly fast asleep. The data on my phone this morning says he slept 0015 until 0700, he does agree he was up at 7 but thinks maybe the late bedtime was him waking up briefly?? How accurate are these things? He has pulled the wool over my eyes so many times in the past

It won't be that accurate for a 9yo as they are modelled on an adult wrist, adult heartbeat patterns etc.

I also find they don't track my sleep accurately so I don't think you can rely on it for a child.

Thanks, would just hate to think 6.5 hours was normal for him
.he put his own weight height in etc, it seems to have captured a blood pressure (no idea how)

If anything, my wrist worn is more likely to over estimate my sleep - for instance saying I was asleep when I was lying in bed reading.

Be very careful of these Fitbits. My young niece started to get a very unhealthy relationship with hers, obsessed with food, step count etc
