Hi can anyone help me, I am due a baby boy in October and my daughter will turn 2 in October, currently I have a single stroller but I'm debating weather I should get a double pram or just use a single pram with a buggy board attached incase my then 2 year old gets tired.

We use the car most of the time to get around and only use the or am for school runs, shopping and days out.

What do you guys Reccomended?

Any help much appreacted :)

I bought a buggy board at first because I didn’t want to buy another pram since I just got my other one. But one day I went out with my newborn and my toddler (18m gap) and my toddler fell asleep on the buggy board leaning forward on the pram 🥺
So I decided to get a cheap double stroller (joie aire twin). It’s quite good because you can put the seat all the way down for newborns.
I did do sling and just put my toddler in buggy but in summer (when it’s really warm), it gets too hot to sling and walk.

23 months difference.

Buggy board all the way - DS became a brilliant walker very early - he knew he could hop on the board if he got tired. I always had a sling in the bag so that he could go in the buggy if he actually hurt himself - but actually hardly ever used it. He was so proud of himself as a big boy walking!

I think he started using a micro scooter at about 2.5 - this was another winner.

I’m going to have a 21m gap, planning on getting a buggy board for when I have the two to myself, but then a cheap stroller so if we go out for longer days with DH or family we can push one each.

Baby not due until December, current DS is a terrible Walker, he just sits down and plays in the mud/stones/rubbish 🤦‍♀️

I had a two year age gap. Definitely get a double buggy. You need a way of securing the toddler for when they have a tantrum and try and run off. Well, I did at least.

I got a second hand double buggy for £150 and was able to sell it on again. I only used it for a few months, but it was worth it.

Depends how compliant your toddler is and how fast you want to get somewhere

27 month gap here, we have both. DD1 goes through phases of being a brilliant walker, others of quite simply refusing. And on her less well behaved days she can't be trusted not to jump off the moving buggy board.

Both have their place for us, although the double is mainly used for long walks at the weekend - handy to be able to strap them both in after being at the park to head home.

Hello. I am in the same position. DD will be just over 2 when her sibling arrives. Can anyone recommend a double buggy that’s compatible with travel systems? I currently have an iCandy Lime, which I love, but it can’t be converted to a double.

Got a buggy board for our single buggy and also bought the Joie double buggy. As a PP said, it can be used from newborn and is not much over £100 so I figured if didn’t use it that much wouldn’t feel too guilty. Been very useful, I can collapse it with one hand and the older one loves sitting next to the younger. 2 yr 7 mth gap here and no sign of him giving up the buggy yet!

21 month age gap here with baby 2 born in October. I'd say double buggy. Slow toddlers and cold, wet walks through the winter are no fun for anyone. Much easier to tuck them both up under a blanket and raincover and power walk your way home!
We had the Mountain Buggy Duet and it's amazing.
(If baby 2 was born in spring, I'd probably opt for buggy board as pootling along at toddler pace is much more pleasant in the dryer/ warmer months).
