Help on routine with 3 month old

Hi guys

First time mum here and just hoping for a little advice and help on getting a good routine with baby.

So the night/morning routine is great. Bath at 7pm followed by wind down then bed at 7:30pm - he’s usually niggly at this point and ready to be put down. At the moment I stay in the room with him as he’s still sleeping in our room. He then wakes at 2/3am for a nappy change and/or a feed. Then back down and up for the day at 7am!

What I’m wondering is should I start putting him down for a nap in the day in his own room now? Or in our room still, but start with a routine of maybe a bottle, quiet time, close the curtains and treat it as a proper nap time rather than just letting him fall asleep on me downstairs?

Sounds like a silly question but I’m really stuck on what to do!

What a great wee sleeper you have there!

Totally up to you! safe sleeping guidelines advise against it. However, after my first, I found I had to as it was too noisy. I actually enjoyed this time too!

Babies under 6 months should have an adult with them for all sleep I wouldn’t. Sleep sounds like it’s going well, if you are happy with what you are doing at the moment then you don’t need to change anything.

We started putting our baby then for at least one day nap in her big crib. We use a baby monitor to keep an eye on her

All other naps are in her ergobaby carrier or on me!

Great sleeper you've got there! Both of mine have had naps in the next2me from that age and I'd just pop in and out while they slept. Neither of them have a nap routine for sleeping in the cot, I'd avoid it personally as it's really handy to get them used to sleeping in loads of different places and I know a couple of families who ended up nap trapped because their older baby would only sleep in the dark, in the cot during the day.
