Toddler possible sprain? Fracture?

My 2 year old was fighting me to get in his car seat yesterday and at one point he fell out of the seat on to the plastic cubby bit in between the two front seats. About 5 mins later he said his right leg hurt at the top outer side of his thigh.

At home he said a couple times his leg hurt again but is walking on it fine. Later in the day he hadn't mentioned it and when I asked him he said it was better.

He's woken up this morning and first thing he's said is 'leg hurt' and pointing at same leg. Still walking fine and just ran from one end of room to the other. Is it possible he's strained the muscle from squirming and fighting being strapped in? (He was quite irate!!) Or could it be a fracture from him falling on the cubby thing?

Not sure whether I need to take him to a&e??

Is he complaining about it still or did he just mention it when he woke up? Since he's running about fine, if it's not bothering him I'd probably just keep an eye on it if it were me. If you're worried and want him checked out do you have a minor injuries unit near you?

Thanks for your reply! We have minor injuries but only for age 4 and up, I think something like that. I know they wouldn't see a 2 year old. He has not mentioned it since and has been v active climbing stomping dinosaur feet 😆 so I reckon it's just a strained muscle. I will keep an eye x

The stomping dinosaur sounds promising! Hope he's been fine today.
