DD2 severe allergies

Dd1 has allergies to egg and milk - she's almost 4 and they haven't resolved yet but they've got less severe and despite carrying an epi pen for egg she's never had a severe reaction and we've got used to it even though it can be a bit limiting.

My 8 month old was doing so well but has just started reacting with hives to dairy too and yesterday had a massive reaction after touching peanut butter. Weve got her referred into the allergy clinic but there's a long waiting list.

A lot of the advice says if you have a nut allergies try to keep a nut free house. But my DD1 needs to eat PB twice a week to maintain her no allergic status. I don t know what to do.

I'm so utterly fed up of foods ruling our lives and never being about to relax out or try house (eg in a cafe) I'm nervous about DD 1 in school in September but I've always held hope that she would eventually outgrow hers where as peanut is whole other thing and it scares the hellout of me

Don't know what I'm asking. Just venting really

You have my complete sympathy. And it does sound difficult trying to keep the PB away from her.

Could little things like making sure DD1 sits at the table when she eats her PB and washes her hands afterwards help?

I'm sure you have already but have you spoken to the school about DD1s allergies? What have they said?

We have similar. DS needs to ear peanuts everyday to maintain tolerance but DS is allergic.

She actually eats peanut m&ms as directed by the allergy clinic which is a bit safer in terms of cross contamination.

That's such a good idea. I've got CMPA and they are about the only things I miss.

Just realised that the OP's DD1 is also allergic to dairy so she'll have to miss out on the delights of Peanut M&Ms as well Sad
