3YOs whingeing making me lose the will to live

Hes ill, fever vomiting for the past few day and has been clingy. Since hes woken up all hes done is cry, moan and say no to everything. I'm bloody losing my shit.

I've tried to be patient and loving towards him but he just keeps saying no to everything and moaning.

Any advice on how to make him more comfortable or help me not lose it will be greatly appreciated.

Pander to him. Let him watch tv, a lot.

Imagine his little face all sad because you are cross with him, you’ll feel guilty if you make him sad when he’s feeling poorly.

I remind myself of an acquaintance who sadly lost a child at this age to stop myself losing my shit. It’s just a bit of whingeing cos he loves you and feels safe expressing his misery. And you are only bothered by it because you love him and want him to be happy.

Have you tried paracetamol and/or ibuprofen? I'm assuming yes but just asking - if theyre feeling lousy especially with fever those could really help.

My other advice is as per PP just let them lay in front of the telly all day or whatever they want. It will pass. My 3yr olds been unwell for over a week now to varying degrees and has been the same sometimes so you have my sympathies. At her worst I've found after a dose of paracetamol 20/30 mins later she was a different child so she even without a fever she must have been feeling really rough.

Is he still vomiting OP? I just saw that you've said it's been the last few days. If they are vomiting for more than 12 hours, you should seek medical advice (call 111), as dehydration might be a consideration.

I know it's hard when they are whinging and difficult, because it's so awful for them, feeling poorly. Just comfort him. This too will pass x

@CustardyCreams
I been reminding myself of what you mentioned about your acquaintance. So that really has helped.

@Somethingsnappy
Hes been a lot better since he woke up this morning. He hasn't vomited today and seems alot more sociable.
