I'm not sure if I've posted this in the right section really but I've been 'victim' of dd1's 6 year old view of the world .

Now in a very churlish and immature way I am very sad and sorry for myself.
She asked my this evening why I wasn't married. Dp and are live together and have done since time began. I started off on a spiel about not needing to be married, being please with myself for giving my daughter this invaluable lesson when she butted in and said "Are you not beautiful enough to get married"

She could see that she had hurt me and tried to back peddle
This comes on top of the fact that dp and I have a pretty crap relationship and that he doesn't really fancy me any more (long story).

Anyway, apart from moaning about me I wondered if anyone else had had hurtful things said to them by their kids. Out of the mouth of babes and all that

"Oh wow, you have the most ginormousest stripy fat belly!"

It must be said - the child was impressed!

My then 2 yr old son would say at fairly regular intervals: "I wish you were dead and then Daddy could stay at home and look after me."

He's turning out OK at 14 and even likes me now, so no lasting damage done...

Funny - when my (now very loving and cuddly 14y.o.) son was 2 he said 'When I grow up I am going to chop you up with an axe!'

I was just really impressed that he could verbalise his feelings so eloquently at 2!

My Dd1 who is 10, was trying to think of a Halloween name for me to use on here, and her first suggestion was uglyoldbag

FatBellyJones · 23/11/2007 09:52

pud1 · 23/11/2007 09:59

my 6 year old neice once told her other aunty that "mummy has a hand bag like that" whilst pointing to her overly suntanned and leahtery cleavage. i had to walk out of the room

Lizzylou · 23/11/2007 10:02

DS1 (3.75yrs)said I was "Nice and squidgy" and "Very big".....have just lot 21lbs, so not overly impressed

selfevidentnamechange · 23/11/2007 10:08

ds says that mummy is more comfy than daddy because daddy's bones are too close to the surface. However daddy is only slightly comfier than a rock. Ds at 3.
I think both were insults - but I'm not sure

MrsSlocomb · 23/11/2007 10:50
