My daughter is addicted to her dummy to sleep with. She's started chewing through them now. I need to ditch them but it's a nightmare at bedtime as she relies on them for sleeping comfort. How did people do it?!

We just went through this two months ago. He was an addict. But we just told him tonight was the night and took it away. First night was awful. Second night wasn't the best. Third night he was great. I expected it to be worse than what it was.

Have a couple of extra in bed to hold in hand. As they fall on floor thats that . Santa always needs them for new babies, abd you get a present in return. All over in a few days.

I cut a slit in the teat of the dummy, about half a cm at the end of it, makes the child have to suck harder to keep it in their mouth, less fun to suck and then DS dropped it himself after a few days as it had become annoying rather than comforting.

Dummy fairy. DD helped me to put them in an envelope and we posted them to the dummy fairy. In the morning she got an annoying, yappy walking dog toy from the fairy.
I think that her actually seeing them go helped and she was quite good about it. Any time that she brought it up after we just reminded her about the irritating dog toy.

Dummy fairy and then put the dummies at the bottom of the wheelie bin so you can’t get them back. It will be tricky for a few days but it will settle.
