We're expecting our first baby imminently, and have just put up the snuzpod in our bedroom in readiness.
My husband then decided he would spray it all over with Dr Bronner's Lavender Hand Sanitiser spray. I have no idea why he thought this was a good idea - but we've been using it as a pillow spray for ourselves. It's fairly natural but obviously has a high alcohol and essential oil content and smells really strongly right now.
I'm wondering how long you think it would take to air out the crib before you'd be happy for a newborn to sleep in it? Given I don't think it'll be easy for me to wash the mattress/ sides (it didn't have a protector or sheets on it yet). In reality it might be another week or so until baby arrives, which I'm hoping is enough for it to air out and feel 'safe', but if baby happens to arrive sooner, should I put him to sleep somewhere else (e.g. pram carrycot - we have one safe for overnight sleeping) until X days have passed? Or would you use it straight away? Or would you try to wash it?
Thanks in advance!
