8 month old constantly growling

Hi there! I'm a new parent and have an 8 month old who has decided recently to growl at everything all the time! I really can't work out whether it's frustration, boredom, happy or sad...? I'm really hoping he isn't in pain as I'm sure he would be crying. Is this just a new phase? Any advice on how to reduce it would be great

Mine became a pterodactyl for a while about that age. They're learning all their new noises, it'll be barking or yodelling or something next month.

He also adopted a death metal growl for saying his name at about 18 months and had half the tiny tots room at it for a while 🤦

Oh yeah we’ve had the growling stage, it was a bit later, age 2ish. Anytime I asked him to do something he growled at Confused
It was concerning at the time, he stopped pretty quickly though, was a strange time Grin

My 7mo is currently trying to learn to crawl and is very very annoyed that he can't. Is he trying to learn a new skill?

Haha, my daughter did this for months! Everyone thought it was very weird and no one I spoke to had ever come across it before. The health visitor thought it was very strange behaviour but my mum said it was just a passing phase and she just enjoyed making the noise and once she found a better noise she'd stop growling.
Seems my mum was right as she hasn't done it for months now. She barks instead Hmm (we don't have a dog).

Ah thank you. Yes funny you say that he is getting frustrated that he can't crawl yet he also can only roll onto his belly and not the other way so gets annoyed! May stop when he can move about more then... fingers crossed
