Hello
My baby is nearly 4 months i am introducing formula to eventually slow and stop milk supply, i want my periods to return - by 6 months he will be ff, concidering I was going to give up bf from newborn im glad i didnt give in, i have so far dropped feeds from 8pm to 7am, formula only within those hours and then going to drop a day feed to, I read that night hours is when the hormones arw at the peak etc with prolactin, i know it differs from each person but are those the right hours to go by for my milk to dwindle down? He will get breastfed all other hours exept those and 3pm bottle feed, this is ny first baby so all new to me x

At 4 months, your milk supply is established, so I wouldn't worry too much about whether you drop the feeds during the day or night. I would just pick the times to drop feeds that work best for you. Each time you drop a feed, wait a few days for your supply to adjust before you drop another. This will prevent engorgement or mastitis. Your body and supply will adjust accordingly. Some babies of 4 months are sleeping long stretches at night without a feed and it does not impact negatively on the mother's daytime milk supply, so on the flip side, it does not matter too much at this point which feeds you drop to meet your goal.

Well done on BF for so long when you hadn't planned to!

Sorry, I've just reread your post and I see you want your baby to be fully FF by 6 months. In that case, wait as long as you like after dropping a feed before you drop the next, of course.
