Hi,

It was supposed to be DD's 14 to 18 month check up on Wednesday but appointment was for 11 in the morning which was her naptime. DH rang and left a message on her mobile asking to re-arrange but not heard anything from her. Have tried the main office too but no answer there either.

What do you do when you can't get hold of anyone?

Can you seriously not put her down for a nap 30 minutes later for one day Confused

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 21/06/2021 18:48

I would just stop trying to contact them. I'm sure they will contact you eventually. Also agree with above though. At that age surely she can hold off on the nap for a bit for one day.

mindutopia · 21/06/2021 20:04

I would just get it done and do naptime later. Is it not just over the phone? Our development check was by phone and ds didn’t even need to be present. Could have just as well been sleeping in the other room.

If you really insist on cancelling, just call again and leave another message. Many HA are part time so likely she hasn’t been to work to get the message yet. But I’d leave another just to make sure it gets delivered.

If they’re like my HV you’ll have to chase them. And chase them. And chase them...

I hear they vary depending on where you live but I was appalled at the service.

Just moved from Wales to England.Old hv says they need new hv details so they can ‘hand me over’.Am I wrong or does new hv get my details once records have transferred to new gp?

scg18 · 25/01/2022 00:14

When I moved within England, from one side of the city to another so not far, I was assigned new HV before I'd had chance to register at new GP. My old HV contacted new hV team and they came to see me, GP not involved.
Perinatal mental health team was only changed once registered at new GP but again old pnmh rang new pnmh team, the GP practice didn't do anything.

I wouldn’t worry too much...there’s no such thing as a 14 to 18 month check anyway unless there are concerns about your child
WingingItEveryDay7 · 25/01/2022 01:28

They're not compulsory so I really wouldn't worry unless you particularly want to speak to a HV? We were meant to have had a check during the first lockdown but we didn't bother with it as the timings we were given didn't work and they wouldn't call on my day off to do it. DS is doing just fine 👍

OP is from June last year so I think it's been and gone now 🤣
