I know this answer will vary. Recently bought 9 month old a wooden walker (thé classic kind that you walk you push along) as he’s started pulling himself up on everything. FIL bought him one of these today and is asking me to ask on average how long from using this to walking

Those sitting walkers are a really bad idea. Please don't use it!

Not to sound like one of those parents but I think those are deemed as dangerous. They don't teach a child to walk so asking for timeframes is ridiculous tbh.
The push along ones are fine!

Baby walkers are controversial, OP. Banned from sale in some countries and there are campaigns to ban them in others.

I think I read that nearly half of babies using a walker sustain an injury from being in one and that they tend to delay walking rather than encourage it. They strengthen the wrong muscles, stop the child from learning to balance, and prevent them from crawling.

I mean, I think in most cases they could be used safety for short periods as long as you watched them like a hawk. But it’s good to be aware of the downsides.

They don't teach walking and they aren't baring their own weight to get strong enough to walk. Left foot, right foot is the easy bit, the strength and balance is want needs practice.

Baby walkers are very dangerous. Give babies ability to move with speed before they are developmentally ready. Just Google baby walker safety. They don’t help your child walk either. The safest place for it is the bin.

I didn't know they were dangerous. DS had one and loved it for the couple of months between us getting it for him (6mo) and him learning to crawl (8mo). He walked at 11mo so I don't think it (or his jumperoo) hindered him at all as I think that's a relatively average age to start walking

Apparently they don’t teach walking and are also dangerous. (Sorry I know that wasn’t your question).

The push along ones are fine and less hazardous.

Why does it matter? They all reach milestones at different times. I don't know anyone who used one of those walkers. They don't encourage walking as the child isn't weight bearing.

Those don’t really help with walking. But in my personal experience, it was about 6-7 months from pulling up and cruising to walking independently. Mine started to pull up around 8-9 months and first walked at 15-17 months. Apparently, crawling is better than early walking for neurological development so I wouldn’t be worrying about rushing it too much.

Mine used one from about 6 months and walked at 10 months, we didn't use it a lot just to contain her occasionally!
