FTM mum here this seems sooo silly to ask. I've bought my babies bottles but just wondering how do I know how much water to add? His small bottles hold 160ml do I just use 160ml no matter how many scoops orrr? Thanks :)

There are clear instructions on the box of formula. It's important to follow them properly.

Generally 1 scoop to 1oz of water.

The packs give you specific info relevant to the brand with a general guide on how much they should have given age but you'll soon figure if they need more/less :)

You need to read the instructions on the formula can. It will give you an estimate on what your baby will need for example a newborn take 30mls.

However, it isn’t strict. You might have a baby who doesn’t want to drink all of the 30 mls or might want more.

Feed on demand but don’t mess about with the instructions on how to make a bottle. If it says 1 scoop per 10mls then that is what it is. If your baby drinks 60mls, the bottle will be 60 mls of water and 6 scoops of powder

Usually 1 scoop to one oz. Always make sure you add powder to water and not the other way around.
For a newborn you will probably only need 1-2 oz per feed at first, but it depends on the size and appetite of your baby.

Follow the instructions on the back of the tub - very important to do correctly. Also, you need to use sterilised bottles and boiling water. You can put 1/3 boiling and top up with 2/3 cooled boiled water if you like but you must put boiling water on the actual formula powder to kill bacteria in the milk. And you must use the bottle fresh. And once the baby has drunk from the bottle you need to discard within 2 hours even if they only drink a bit as their mouth will introduce bacteria to the milk too.
