Cutting out dairy to help asthma and allergies

My daughter (17 months) has bad eczema, awful hayfever keeping her up half the night and is now being investigated for asthma. She had none of these symptoms while she was breaastfed but they’ve all crept in since I stopped at 12 months. I’m pretty much vegan (I eat eggs but not dairy) so I’m wondering if since introducing lots of cows milk from formula it’s triggering these allergies / making them worse from excess mucus.

Has anyone has any success with improving these issues by cutting dairy from their little ones diet? Did you have to cut out milk completely or was just taking out cows milk as a drink enough but yoghurt etc was ok?

If she has CMPA then it will help but if she doesn’t it won’t make any difference. If she is allergic then you will need to remove all dairy. If you suspect an allergy then you need a referral to a paediatric dietitian.

I wouldn't cut out any foodgroup in a child without a GP (and dietician?) Advice.

We have an eczema family. It turns out pets are our biggest trigger. But also moving out from a flat with a huge moudly corner made a huge difference too.

It's probably best to notify your HV/GP prior to doing this, so they can have a note on file if it turns out that dairy is the trigger. Just make sure babies calcium intake is met through other sources.
It could be the dairy, if that's the variable that's changed then probably is. Casein is known to trigger other allergies like asthma.
