4 year old bedtime routine

Could you all please tell me how you get your 4 year old to sleep please? Also what time do you aim for?

My Daughter used to fall asleep around 8, now it's creeping more towards 830. We also used to lay with her until she fell asleep each night, but it's not really working any more. She is absolutely bouncing off the walls at bedtime, jumping on the bed, talking non stop, laughing etc. It's really annoying trying to calm her down, but as soon as she's calm, she does go to sleep quite quickly.

Just looking to see how other people manage bedtime.

My 4 year old has dinner at 5, bath at 6 (where we brush teeth), a story and 15mins iPad time, last wee and bed at 7. That being said with the heat this week has been challenging.
Also note my LO is up at 6.15 (sometimes 5.30) every day which I know is not everyone’s ideal, I have many friends whose children don’t sleep until 9pm but they get up at 8- I personally want my evening more than an hr lay in.

Dinner at 5.30-6pm, upstairs for 6.40pm and either bath, shower or sink wash and brush teeth. PJs on and in bed by 7pm, book then lights off 7.15-7.20pm - we still stay until he's asleep though which can be 15-20 mins on a good night to over an hour on a bad one. 🤨

No TV or screens after dinner as it just gets him too excitable. 🙄

In our house, bedtime starts with a bath using Johnson’s Baby Bedtime bubble bath. Supposedly it’s sleep-inducing. They then have a small drink of milk, brush teeth, story, we say goodnight to all their stuffed toys and they fall asleep listening to an audiobook. At that age, Dd liked Paddington, Mummy Fairy and Me, and Amelia Jane.

During the week dinner at 5.30ish, followed by playing or TV. Upstairs for toilet, teeth and bath at 6.30, into PJs, one story then kiss goodnight and leave by 7. Sometimes she’ll play with her soft toys in bed for a bit before falling asleep but we don’t go back in. She’s usually up between 6.30 and 7. At the weekend if we’ve been somewhere bedtime is often a bit later so we might skip the bath. On Friday she went to bed at 9 and woke up at 8 on Saturday morning.

If she's bouncing off the walls then she's potentially overtired. 8-830 is quite late for a four year old!

We do iPad time while I'm making dinner, dinner between 5-5:30pm, then free play. No screens after dinner. Bath/shower between 6-6:30pm, then orchard games or jigsaw with a small bowl of cereal and milk. Teeth, story and in bed for 7pm, and asleep pretty quickly after that.

Just-four year old and just-two year old: dinner at 5, out to play till 6, jigsaws/colouring in bad weather,, bath, books, milk, teeth, bed at 7pm. Bedtime itself is kisses night night to older siblings & us downstairs then upstairs to dark room, straight in bed, gro clock turned on and then I leave the bedroom straight away after saying sweet dreams. They sleep in same room, and are asleep within minutes. I’m quite firm with bedtime routines!
