Been told by HV it’s wind & used infacol for wks but nothing.
Doc says could be reflux & bn given infant gaviscon to use for a few wks but this is not doing anything either so far
Anyone else had this with their baby? If so what did u do to help?
I have read about seeing a chiropractor for Colic has anyone done this?
Any advice welcome

Commenting even though I don't have much for advice sorry. Just wanted to encourage you to try to hang in there, it will get better even though it's hard to imagine that it will. I don't have any experience with using a chiropractor for this but I have friends who did, who were amazed at the results, so I think it's worth a try if nothing else is helping.

Are you breastfeeding and drinking a lot of fizzy caffeinated drinks? I didn’t make the connection until years later but yeahhhh my daughter was a nightmare and I’m pretty confident it was down to my diet.

My daughter was hell to be around for the first 2.5 years of her life (people kept commenting, even strangers, that she was always screaming and they’d never even seen her smile). Yes, I had that child. I was in utter disbelief about it all and tried everything. She’s now the most lovely 9 year old going. Some kids are hell and then outgrow it. Sorry 😣

I had similar with my daughter. Screamed constantly for weeks on end. I took her to out of hours on a Sunday morning and hit it lucky with a paediatric nurse who put her on omeprazole, on the strongest dose. It took another 4 weeks but her reflux finally settled. I'd had her at the gp 3 times and the HV and was told she would grow out of it, but her screams were pain. Awful experience. Just keep hounding the Dr. We started with gaviscon but it made her so constipated.

Hi. I've been there and I know just how awful it can be so you truly have my sympathies. Infacol did nothing for my ds. He was also prescribed gaviscon which did help a little bit but not much. I stopped breast feeding in the midst of all this and switched to formula which helped initially but then the crying started again within days. What really helped was that the doctor prescribed a hydrolysed formula. At the same time I also bought a baby swing, so I don't know which of these was the answer (both?) but I definitely saw an improvement. I also took him for cranial osteopathy. I do think the problem was reflux as he used to vomit a lot after feeds right up until he was walking.
Mumsnet was truly a lifesaver to me when this was all going on so I hope you can find some help. Big hugs x

Hi, my daughter used to cry all day from 3weeks old to 13weeks old. She kept crying all day long apart from when she sleeps and feeds.

I tried gripe water and infacol, but nothing worked. After few weeks I was devastated, and in tears all the time. I was depressed.

One day I found out going out for walk with my daughter was the only time she stops crying. Since then, I went for walk every single day no matter how bad the weather was. It was the only time I can keep my sanity and feel refreshed too (as soon as I got home, she started crying until next nap!)

Does your little girl like going out in a pushchair?

You are doing great job. Just keep doing whatever you can. The crying phase is tough for your mental health, but it will pass. Xx

I second the moving bit, pram, sling, carrier, any of this any good? I found that being out and about helped a lot, even if only around the house. Both mine slept well in the sling/wrap on me while I moved but they also had to sleep in the pram and luckily both did.

Another advice I have that I used (although obv this is not recommended etc.) was both mine slept on their tummy or on their side. Especially in the pram it made all the difference.

Good luck, I hope it gets better. It's hell when they scream non-stop.

Try the helpline, you'll be put through to a parent who's been in the same situation.

Flowers it's SO hard with a constantly crying baby. Remember that if you're at the end of your tether you can always put the baby in a safe place (like a cot) and take 5 minutes away.
