Hey everyone. My LO is 5 months old next week. Recently he’s been drooling a whole lot and has everything in his mouth but other than that, he’s fine. Just wondered if these photos look like he’s teething or if I’m just imagining it...

Yes but be warned it can go on for ages and sometimes even stops for a bit.

Can't quite tell from the pic, do you mean because you can see the teeth at the front of the gums? Because my baby's looked like this for a while before a tooth came through. Can you feel anything sharp on the gum? It could be soon but may be another month or so.

They are teething for the first two years. Sometimes it's more painful than other times. I'd just assume there is always trouble with teeth and forget about it.

Yes but probably not imminent. You'll see a sort of grey indentation in the gum when they're about to come through.

My DD’s gums looked like that from about 4 months... she didn’t get her first tooth until 6 days after her 1st birthday 😂

Here’s a pic of my DD’s gum just before it cut (not the best pic but can see the grey indentation PP mentioned)

Absolutely agree with this. DD looked like she was teething for ages and nothing happened. When her top 4 teeth cut through all at the same time I actually didn’t notice at all from her behaviour until another mum said “oh look she’s got her top ones”

I think teeth can cause them pain way before they cut through. With DDs bottom ones the gum felt very sharp before the first tooth made an appearance.
