Any tips for relieving a teething 4mo?

My LO has just turned 4mo and has been teething a little while. For the last few days her discomfort has escalated, with her hand in her mouth constantly if left to it, to the point that she's made herself sick twice.

We have a couple of teethers but if I leave her with them she just drops them and returns to the hands.

Help!!

Anbesol liquid.

Soak a flannel and freeze it. The cold helps.

Teething power can help too (worked great for DN1)

The fingers/hands in mouth is a normal/expected developmental stage, nothing to do with teething. But if your LO is teething and in obvious distress you could use Calpol once a day, with the other suggestions above. It's horrible to see your baby in pain, but teething comes and goes.

When our LO was teething at that age we found a teething gel that was suitable from 3months plus.
It’s Ashton & Parsons and we got it from Sainsbury's or Superdrug.
We also used teething salts which were from 3 months plus as well. And the teethers you put in the fridge and they just suck on the cold bit which soothes the gums.
Hope this helps Smile

Ashton & Parsons aswell as Anbasol Gel.
Calpol when it's really bad.
Brush Baby teether set was good. The rubber First Brush that looks like an applicator is good for them to bite on to relieve some pain. I used to put some gel on this and DC would bite away.

What about those teething gloves you attach to their hand so it can't fall off? Gummy glove I think

I used anbesol with my first, it’s mainly alcohol, I just rubbed some whiskey on my seconds gums. I store said whiskey in an old anbesol bottle

Ah, I hated this stage, it went on and on, and it was so hard watching them in pain.

We were told not to use the Anbesol, as it can be dangerous if you use too much? Tbh, it seems like everything that is remotely helpful in looking after a young baby is viewed as dangerous, these days, very unhelpfully.

DD got some relief chewing on a set of toy keys that were filled with gel you could cool in the fridge. But her best thing was chewing on her Sophie the Giraffe. Calpol for when it was bad. And lots of distraction and cuddles.
