Can I stop forcing tummy time now? Or is it a big red flag if she misses out rolling? She's 5mo.

Didn't persist with tummy time for my 34 weeker, she rolled, crawls and sits up just fine, earlier than babies I know of a similar age who did get enforced tummy time.

I've been persisting with tummy time for my 10 month old, who used to hate it and now just tolerates it. She has never rolled, she also doesn't crawl..but she was sitting at 6months and is now bum shuffling. I've raised it with a HV who didn't seem bothered at all. I'm still concerned (about the no rolling) so am trying to get her seen by a GP (impossible due to covid).

Honestly I'd say maybe stick it out as it is good for their development and strength. But be aware that even if you persist, your child still may not roll/crawl anyway, if they are anywhere near as lazy as my DD! My older two were fine with tummy time and were much more advanced in gross motor (my eldest was walking at 10.5 months!), so I think it does help as although we are trying to to tummy time regularly with my DD3, she hated it for so long that we have only been able to do small amounts of it at a time (maybe 20-30 mins max even now).

'Tummy time' was never a 'thing' when my two DS were babies. I've said it before here and will again - they are now both strapping lads over 6ft in their 20s, fit and healthy. DS1 was walking at 10 months, DS2 was walking at 9 months. It's just another fad if you ask me, babies develop at their own pace.

DD hated tummy time. She sat up just fine and then bum shuffled - never crawled... she was fast as anything though!

My now 2 year old was exactly the same. She never rolled and only bum shuffled. If it can reassure you, she walked around 14 months and now walks/runs everywhere and is a dab hand at climbing. Her fine motor skills are much better than her brothers ever where at 24 months. Her rolling is still pretty awkward but it's not really a hinderance in any way.
