What can I do with my 16 month old twins when I'm by myself?

I'm a SAHM to very active 16 month old twins. At the weekend we do lots with DH, friends or family. But during the week I'm by myself with them, and everyone else is at work. I'm starting to struggle with keeping them entertained, especially now it's warmer and I'd like to get them outside more. We go for at least one walk each day, usually two! But I'm not even quite brave enough to let them out at the park by myself yet. Unfortunately our garden is very small and split-level, basically the least child-friendly space you can imagine. How can I keep them busy and get them out more without confining them to the buggy?

I assume they are walking? IME you just have to go for it and build up your confidence. The park for example should be fine and you can always use child reins if they are runners. Sometimes you have to scoop up one to help the other out. I also direct them to the same pieces of equipment, or I put 1 in the sand pit and keep my eye on them whilst I help the other on a slide for example. I also ask other mums to help me if needed, like do you mind pushing this swing whilst I put this one on the slide, people are always kind and interested in twins.
Walks are always good. Keep them focused on finding things like leafs or sticks or pebbles so they both amble in the right direction.

I agree it’s all about gaining confidence.
Do you have any toddler groups on?
Tend to be in Church halls and only couple of pounds. They’ll have free rain, you can have a cuppa in peace talking to other parents. And you know their safe in one place.

Now things are opening again are there any baby friendly soft play areas? I have one near me that has a smaller toddler section, and an older child section. I like it because the smaller children are free to run (toddle) about, but you can always see them and they're 'contained' so they cant really get very far

Not a fan of reins but I did use them for a few weeks when my twins were getting mobile, they were really helpful for setting boundaries when we started letting them get out the pram a bit

I second soft play centres and toddler groups/ play and stay sessions - also fenced in playgrounds at quiet times of the day.
