Are all babies this vocal?

My DS is almost 4 months now and he’s always been very content, aware and active. Even my HV mentioned that. I have no idea where he got all this energy from, definitely not from me!
The kinda ( small ) problem is - he’s also very loud around his sleep times.
I don’t remember when exactly, couple of weeks ago maybe,I started to associate his mumbling and gurgling with tiredness.
Now, at 4 months he is LOUD. Imagine every baby sound x10. He’s mumbling and gurgling and shouting and screaming, he sometimes sounds like an injured animal or something. And it’s so funny sometimes.
And the only way how to soothe him is to rock him and make him stop. He’s not past his sleep windows or anything to make him overtired he’s just doing that... I don’t know? To soothe himself maybe?
I know there are different opinions about sleep associations - don’t rock him every time because he won’t learn how to fall asleep on his own, some say hold them and rock them while they are still small, that’s all they need and you not gonna regret that.
Obviously different things work for different people.
And he won’t sleep in the pushchair too. Now the weather is getting better and so many places we would like to go but even going to the local park is just too much something.
He would be his normal happy looking around baby and then when he’s tired he will start his usual squealing mumbling thing and boy it’s loud. So I have to rock him, walk around with him while he keeps on doing he’s loud baby sound.
Are there any babies who just kinda start to yawn and close their eyes without this crazy sound every time?

Maybe he's associating making the noise with being rocked and attention from you. What would happen if you left him to it, would he fall asleep?

Me and my partner tried a few times and he just never stops. Sounds like every time he’s just finding some new sounds.
And he doesn’t stop when we pick him up, we have to rock him while he’s being so loud and then when he’s finally ready to sleep and the eyes are closing he finally stops.

My daughter is very loud in her cot too and I do think it's self soothing. If they are just noises and she is not upset I tend to leave her to it. Now shes 8 months she normally does this and goes to sleep within 10 minutes. When she was younger she would often need a bit of extra help ie head stroking or cuddles. Maybe your baby is trying to self soothe with the noises but can't quite do it and needs some extra help.

My DS is 10, he was tiny but definitely the loudest child on the post natal ward. He is still very loud and has a huge voice, he channels this into singing.
