Decent waterproof mattress cover for night time training

Dd is 2.6 and has been out of nappies during the day for about 4mths now, her night nappies were still very wet though. The last couple of weeks she's had a cold and cough so hasn't had her large cup of milk last thing at night in bed(if she has a big cup of milk and then coughs loads she'll often bring it up). And now has dry nappies in the morning so I'm thinking about taking her out of nappies at night. She got a mattress protector with her kids duvet and pillow set but its horrible, uncomfortable and makes her sweat, I've only put it on a couple of times. Can anyone recommend a decent waterproof mattress cover. She's got a 3ft full size bed with a decent mattress on it, and wriggles about alot so would really need the whole bed covered.

If you go to Boots they sell a really good mattress cover in their range for the older generation who have incontinence problems! My youngest dd has had one on her bed for the last year, since she's been dry at night, and it is excellent - it keeps the mattress nice and dry and is fully elasticated around the edge so fits on the mattress nicely without it sliding off - it fits like a fitted bottom sheet. They also wash really well.

Little green earthlets do lovely organic cotton covered ones, not hot and sweaty like the plastic covered one, I use these and think they are great

thanks for the advice, I'll look into both of those.

Hippychick do a thick cotton sheeet with some sort of waterproof inner - my friend has them and I loved them when we stayed

I am selling one for £3 plus postage. It is plastic and tieds on to the mattress and then you would put the sheet on top. LMK if any use to you.

Thanks NAB but I've already got a plain plastic one and think its awful, makes dd sweat, and me when I slept in it once with her! I'm looking for a cotton topped waterproof one, like the ones others have suggested.

Okay. Thanks for letting me know.

John lewis do fab ones and I am about to get another for Ds2.

The one I got from Boots isn't plastic - its a weird sort of material but not one to make you hot/sweat - I've slept in dd2's bed during the summer (when she was ill) and it's fine. And it washes/tumble dries really well.
