Crèches in london

I am a first time mother with a 14 month old boy. I would love to go to some exhibitions at the British museum but I am not sure how I can fit this around my baby's nap (it takes about 50mins to get to London). Are there any crèches in London where I can drop him off for 60-90mins for his nap? I could get a babysitter and leave him at home but then I lose half a day with him. I swear I used to see crèches around when I was a teenager but now I have a baby I never see any.

Will he nap in a buggy/sling? That’s your best bet I’d say. It won’t hurt if he has a shorter nap than usual for one day.

I am not aware of any creches like you’re looking for. Maybe at some high end gyms, but they’re for members using the gym (and even then, more likely to exist in residential areas than central). Sorry.

Can you not just take him with you? I took mine on holiday alone to Barcelona to do days of museums. It was absolutely fine. Or do you have a partner? I would think your partner should jump at the chance for one on one time while you have a day to yourself. The hardest bit of this would be the travel so I’d leave baby at home and enjoy yourself.

I think you're kidding yourself a bit if you think you can drop your baby off for 1hr or so just for a nap.

Erm stick him in the buggy with a blackout shade if needed. The only crèche I know is in IKEA and it doesn't do naps...
