Sounds a bit stupid asking this but I have a 6 month old so born in winter. So far it's been OK dressing her in baby grows or bottoms and a jumper

As the weather is due to warm up...about 24 degrees next week..I'm wondering what she should be wearing and conscious of not overheating

Would leggings and tshirt be too warm?

I've noticed weather is warming up next week around 24degrees

What do I dress my baby in so she doesn't overheat?

Romper suits are so handy. I think leggings might be a bit hot. You can also get light trousers, a bit like harem pants. Primark have them sometimes and they are great as keep covered but light. A t shirt is fine with that, or again you can get light loose long sleeved tops, next have them sometimes.

My dd2 is 6 months, she's worn leggings and a t shirt on a few nice dats we've had. I tend to find what works best is the guage it ok what I want to wear, if I'm hot and want a dress on then she'll need a dress but if my arms are cold and need a cardi she probably does too. Xx

@sarahc336 thanks for this I will do this. Does the one layer more than you still apply at this age?

Well today, and it was quite warm and sunny with us, I kept my 6 month old in a vest but put on leggings and t shirt but if it was any hotter than today I'd probably loose the vest. Inthink layers is the key so a t shirt with a cardigan as the cardigan can easily be taken off etc x

DD is nearly 5 months and for a while now had been wearing long-sleeved vests and dungarees. Her legs are too long for baby-grows and she can't wear things with a waistband due to a pretty severe umbilical hernia that gets in the way.

When the weather warms up I just plan on switching to shortsleeved vests and short-legged dungarees - could work for your DD? Also romper suits are good. If the weather gets very warm then just a vest, or vest with light floaty dress, could be good?

My DS is 10 months and when it is warm he just wears a pair of trousers, socks, vest and top. If it's HOT then a t-shirt and shorts with no vest.

Rompers are a brilliant compromise and there's not many phases in life where you can wear them so I wholly embraced then for DD! Socks and a cardie if it cools down a bit.

I have some little cotton vests and shorts ready for DD (8 months) to wear when the weather hots up.

Short sleeved short legged romper suits are ideal when it is hot, just over a nappy. If warm then add a vest. The romper suits are great as there’s no waistband other than the nappy but if part of it gets dirty you might have to take the whole thing off . I remember a hot summer day at clinic where the HVcame out in the waiting room and said to us all to take vests off baby, just nappy and one layer as it was hot.
