Travel tips for ten month old

I plan to visit my sister in London soon with my nine month old and my mum. I will be travelling via aeroplane and probably staying in self catering accommodation. Does anyone have any travel tips for going away with a ten month old?

On arrival at the accommodation check what furniture is likely to tip over- remove all vases/ glass objects etc-
Give a bottle or breastfeed on take off and landing to stop ears popping
Spare clothes for you and them in case they throw up on the flight- my neighbour learnt that the hard way when their son threw up on them on an 8hr flight and they only brought a change of clothes for the kids

Snacks, snacks and more snacks.

Sling for getting round the airport, makes getting onto the plane easier. If you've got a regular stroller rather than a babyzen yo-yo type, you don't get it back till luggage collection and it can be a long walk with a wriggly baby.

@OnlyFoolsnMothers @Getawriggleon thank you, great advice I hadn't thought of!

If you can afford it then get them a seat on the plane. Having a big wiggling baby on your lap is no fun and it gives them you both space to stretch if they want to nap. Book an aisle seat for easy access to the loo for nappy changes. Snacks, snacks, snacks especially ones that take them a while to eat e.g. cheerios or puffs. Yes to the spare clothes; I learned that one the hard way after leaving a plane naked under a coat. More nappies (and formula if applicable) then you ever think you’ll need in case of delays. I have a YoYo stroller, it’s great.

Just to add get down on the floor in your accommodation too check what is under sofas/beds etc that baby may grab that cleaners may have missed.
If you aren't taking your own travel cot, introduce them to where they'll be sleeping before bedtime so it isn't a completely new environment.
