Rash on baby

6.5months old. Has had this rash on his back for just over 2 weeks now getting gradually worse, then a bit better, then a bit worse etc. Doesn’t seem to be causing him any discomfort at all. There’s now a few spots starting to creep round his sides and on to his belly. Occasional few on his chin, neck, behind ears too. It’s raised and bumpy to touch.

Has anyone experienced similar? Took him to the GP last week to get it checked as it hadn’t gone away - GP viewed it from across the room, must have been at least 3m away, didn’t touch it etc 🙄 asked no questions about it and just told me it’s dry skin 🤔
I questioned if it could be an allergy as it appeared a couple of days after I introduced cows milk into his solid foods but was told 100% not.
Absolutely nothing else has been changed. Same washing detergents, soaps etc since he was born and no previous skin issues.

Hi everyone can anyone tell me what this rash is on my five month old daughters back. Doctors just saying dry skin or eczema but it seems to be getting worse.

Hiya I'm currently experiencing the exact same rash with my 7 month old son. He is CMPA so we are dairy free while weaning but he still continues to have this exact same rash. Did you manage to find out what it was?
I'll attach photos of my sons...at first we assumed it was food but now I'm really not sure because it seems to flare up throughout the day every single day no matter what he eats.

@Staceyyyy
My little boy is now almost 16 months! His rash seemed to last months and would sometimes be angry and sometimes be mild but like you would flare up during days! We too went completely dairy free until it disappeared. I used child's farm soap when bathing and child's farm moisturiser 2x daily. I honestly think it was maybe also linked to the colder weather. Never got to the bottom of what it was but I can say it disappeared after 2 months and so far hasn't returned even after following the milk ladder! X

Hi yes i never found out what it was but i tried everything, and eventually used sudo cream it cleared it up within days. Hope this helps

Thank you so much for responding! That is exactly like my sons some days it's quite bad and all over his tummy and some days it's not or just abit under his ribs. I notice it always looks the worse at the end of the day and then by the morning has almost completely gone it's so weird! I'm gonna give sudocrem a go on it thank you. I was using aveeno cream on it but seems to make it look far worse!
Did you cut any other foods out incase it was food related? Or did you just carry on as normal?
And how old would you say your LO was when it disappeared?

Staceyyyy · 06/12/2022 07:48

The cold weather actually could make sense!
Did your LO have dry patched around there body aswell? He seems to have little small dry patches like on his thighs and arms

OLR92 · 06/12/2022 08:03

We just completely cut dairy and I just made a food diary each day to see if anything flared it but there seemed to be no rhyme or reason!
He did have little dry patches, he was defo uncomfortable with it, he used to itch it, but since, he has been absolutely fine! No problems! Defo think the colder weather could be a linked and car seats, going to keep my eye out this winter, fingers crossed by Christmas it will have gone. Babies are funny things x

Hi yes we just cut everything back and done a food diary and and i rewashed all her clothes in case it was the the washing powder. She is 8 1-2 months now and fingers crossed that's the last we will see of it.🤞
