Days with a 15 month old

Just curious what everyone else’s days look like.

DH and I work part time so we have our 15m old on alternate days. DH drives so they go to swimming classes once a week & visit the grandparents etc

On my days, as soon as DH leaves for work we just settle into the same old routine. Out for a long walk, sit in the park for a bit and then just lounging round the house entertaining baby (who isn’t walking yet, which I believe would make things infinitely more fun for him)

I love him endlessly but our days feel so dull, especially with this gloomy weather.

What does everyone else do?

Urgh I feel the monotony. I have a non walking 17 month old we seem to do the same stuff every day.

We go for a walk sometimes we stop at the park and play in the swings and then we come home read books, play with toy, practice doing puzzles (aka throwing the pieces) and sometime go into the garden depending on the weather.

We have one weekly group but that's all we could find that wasn't extortionate and suitable for a non walking toddler. I'm completely over messy play stuff, setting up tuff trays or trekking to exciting places miles away where he inevitably shows no interest.

My DH and I share, too. I drive so we do grandparents/ shopping on my mornings. My DH tends to go to the park around 9:30am, then they may go for a longer walk or to the shop or just come home and rattle around for a bit - playdough or painting or, if it's nice, out in the sandpit. Lunch, nap, then more of the same as the morning. On the days there's a toddler group he'll go to that.

It is hard to find enough to do, especially when few indoor groups running and terrible weather.

Do you have any free parent and baby groups near you? Sometimes churches do them, and our local nursery has a free play "taster" session which is an hour but you have to pre-book. Also look for cafes doing parent and baby coffee mornings, and "forest school" type places. We're in Wales so we go to Babi Actif weekly sessions which have been a lifesaver. Perhaps there's something similar in your area?

My 15m hates being indoors and is bored very easily. Doesn't watch any TV. He gets up and has breakfast / a play, 1h nap then we get up and out for the day. Either to the park, or meet a friend for a walk, soft play, swimming, toddler classes (I only choose drop in ones as I don’t want to be tied up on my one day off).

We go out even if it’s raining, he has a puddle suit and wellies and loves splashing in puddles - we did this before he could walk too. He loves the beach (even in the rain), with a cheap little bucket and spade.
