Looking for aplix/popper nappies I haven't tried yet

I need a few more nappies as ds2 (who's nearly a year and 20+lb) has just grown out of a few but I don't want to start washing every day. I have loads of wraps so really don't want to buy any more pockets, but I need nappies that nursery/dp/dm can operate and nobody can cope with a nippa'd bambineo plus airflow it seems.

I already have a few MEO's and Sandys, but would like to try something else. Must be quick drying (although I have a dryer, and soften them up in there) and fit a very chubby-legged boy! Any suggestions? Please? I looked round but there were too many to choose from (little lambs, thirsties, slinki minki's (which look sooo cute), bright bots...)

man, theres like a million kinds. what to suggest??

nappies for wraps... i like baby beehinds, but they are not exactly quick drying. i put them in the dryer on low heat coz they take forever on the line (and i am impatient)

i also like kiwi quick flips - they dry quicker...

and lemme think...cottontails are lovely. really soft.

have you looked at snap-in AIO's? the sugar peas are great (but if anyone but you does the washing ever, someone will shrink your wool wrap part in no time (grrr). in fact, all my wool nappybits are forever being washed when my back is turned and then i have to lanolise all over again... its a pain, but hell, there are worse probs than your washing being magically done all the time!!

my current absolute fave nappy of all time, is the berry plush snap in AIO. i have one in leopard print and have taught my son to yell 'Bam Bam!'[ok, i am pretty wierd] but they are super soft and lovely.

but back to what you asked... nappies for wraps, then id say the cottontails (yummy) and beehinds are faves, kwik flips also match your criteria.

Thanks BBG! I would love to have a leopard print nappy but have settled for a nature babies wrap in leopard which is also cute I just find the pockets aren't as good when it comes to holding poo although wonderoos aren't bad. You're tempting me with a berry plush tho!!
I already have a quick flip lite nippa which I do like, does it work ok in popper though? I did get an email from Flame about cottontails which I really liked at the time but hadn't heard anymore about them.

i know what you mean about pockets... they are easy and simple etc... but experts like us need more of a fluffy fix than a pocket can offer, no??

berry plush are lush. it even rhymes. you know it makes sense! and they are easy too, and quick drying.

quik flips work fine in...i think its applix i have. also the usual contenders - tots bots etc, but none of them are exciting really. do the job, but.

cottontails are loooovely. all velvety. almost make me want a newborn to make them tiny and put them on a littley [told you im wierd]

btw - that bbg bird is me

accessorizewithbabysick · 16/11/2007 20:59

I'm all confused now (about galores everywhere... )
mmmm, might have to go shopping. I think I ought to have enough nappies really (I know I do) but there's never enough easy ones to take to nursery etc. I also wish I could use them again on a newborn, not so sad!

guess youll be surfing the fluffnet for a bit then... bumfluff, nappyneeds, twinkletwinkle etc etc

accessorizewithbabysick · 16/11/2007 21:16

yeah course I should just get some more 2nd hand sandy's....

poppers and loveliness i would have to say a btp bambeasy as they are absolutly devine - topped with a nature babies funky wrap or a weenotions one. I get my fixes from pockets though but didnt realise that made me an amateur lol . I am loving playing with me new weenotion wrap.

hah! at notion of 'needs being an amateur (and me an expert!)

twas entirely tongue in (slightly pissed) cheek... i ussually talk shite, just ignore me.

am bored of my pockets coz none of them are new. shallow nob that i am.

coby · 16/11/2007 22:35

Hmmmmm...quick drying and easy to operate.

One suggestion could be popper fit fluffles but theres a big part of me saying NO! AVOID!!! I've heard they are a pain to use on wriggly ones - hard to find the poppers in amongst all that fluff .

Of course there are velcro fit Fluffles or the new Little Lamb Microfibre but then forget the laundry tags at your peril!!

NappiesGaloreisarubbishmum · 16/11/2007 22:37

aplix on that age... well on my now 22mo, aplix is a 'mare as he just undoes it and takes it off when he fancies it.
hvae to get the wrap on sharpish.

coby · 16/11/2007 22:46

'tis true there no sweeter sound to a 15m+ baby than that of velcro being unstuck - especially when it gets such a reaction from Mummy!

This is why I moved over to popper everything - now DD2 is building up the muscles to unpopper her nappies I think I might just go over to industrial staples and be done with it!

accessorizewithbabysick · 16/11/2007 22:50

Don't get me wrong either, I luv pockets, I wish I had got more of them earlier than bambineos (which are nowhere near as good as the original wambamboos). It's just I have all these wraps including 2 nice new nature babies ones and nothing to put in them!

coby, I do have some fluffles for night-time (they're great boosted with bamboo) and I often nippa the popper one as it is a pain! I like them, they're great newborn nappies, but nothing would fit over them for the day, I have a hard enough time finding any trousers as it is.
Quite a few good options here, I shall definitely keep looking although I keep being drawn back to pockets again (stop it! )

Have you tried bambinex teddys? I recently bought some aplix ones and they are lovely and soft, the velcro is not stiff like the tots I tried so it doesnt cut into their tummy and the booster has a fleece liner on them so it is one less bit for everyone to have to deal with. They also have not stuck to everything in the washing machine like my Little lambs does.

And they take a couple of hours to dry on a dryer.

(BTW I agree about the bambineo v wbbs!)

Flame · 16/11/2007 22:59

Ooh - can I ask why you don't think the bambineos are as good as the wbbs??

Dragonhart · 16/11/2007 23:01

Bulkier, not as absorbant, longer to dry.

The only advantage is that the booster is longer.

Flame · 16/11/2007 23:04

see, I didn't compare wbbs vs bambineos in my Big Bamboo Experiment

I liked the bambineo... the fabric feels better, but I can see why it would be more bulky because the pile is longer No idea why it is less absorbant though!

Dragonhart · 16/11/2007 23:08

It doesnt seem to absorb the liquid as well and 'feels' wetter so not as comfortable. I have also found that if you dont reshape them whilst wet, the edges are all folded over the seams so that it marks dd's tummy ( a small point but while we are talking about the negatives...)

I think I just love my wbbs so much. Bambineos are softer material though.

accessorizewithbabysick · 17/11/2007 08:17

My wbb's are softer, the elastic stays flat so dries better and the pile has stayed fine for nippa'ing whereas the bambineos are getting a bit bald already! Perhaps it's just the way I've washed them.

OP posts:
nappyzone · 17/11/2007 10:26

i far prefer the new to the old wbb, sodter and fluffier .... teddy is nice

nappies dont be bored of pockets !!! come see my greenkids...

accessorizewithbabysick · 17/11/2007 19:59

have just bought a couple of 2nd hand sandy's (they are great, really, just boring!) so I can afford a berry plush!

OP posts:
ib · 17/11/2007 20:07

I like the bambineo better than the WBB - I find it stays snugger to the body iyswim.

accessorizewithbabysick · 17/11/2007 20:10

maybe I just got a bad batch, they were the mint green colour although I have dyed them pink so they look like gelati

OP posts:
accessorizewithbabysick · 17/11/2007 20:10

Just to clarify I didn't dye them pink on purpose!
