Hi, I need some advice.

I'm 16 and I'll be going to college in September. I have a little boy and he'll be almost 9 months when I start college. I'm just looking at my options

Yes, nursery or a childminder if you want a more homely environment.

Can you afford the fees? Who watches him while you're at school now and why can't they carry on?

College will probably have a nursery, and yes I would definitely send him. Good luck with your course.

What else would you do with him?

Tickly · 17/05/2021 15:47

Yes absolutely. Settling in can take some days (and be a bit distressing for mum too!) but once they're in and settled the baby should form a lovely attachment with their key worker. They should be able to give you lots of updates about what he's eaten and played , sleep etc and show you photos. Good luck with your return to college. Hope it goes well for you.

Yes, definitely assuming you can afford it or if not ask for family help. I’d treat college like a job and make sure you have the childcare in place so you can focus on the work you need to do. I did a degree when my youngest was in nursery and it was great for both of us have that break from each other.

If you can afford it the definitely do it. Separation anxiety gets worse at a year old, so it could actually be a little easier for him then. But my DD settled really quickly at a year so you never know, he might love it
Good luck.
