Hi all,

Does a 3 month old baby need to wear a hat our side? I read once they're not newborns anymore that they dont need to but I wanted to find out myself x

A sun hat on a sunny day definitely, although best to keep them out of the direct sun as much as possible. One of those newborn hats, then no not needed now it’s getting warmer and baby is older unless you live halfway up a mountain!

If not sure start with a hat, then check babies temperature by touching their neck and take on or off accordingly.

Mine's a bit older but only wears a wooly hat when it's proper cold. It's about 12-15 here at the moment so no hat - plus I was expecting it to be warm by now so she doesn't have any hats that fit!

not sunny not raining just normal mild day Personally I wouldn’t bother with a hat. You can always add one if they feel cold but it’s generally better to err on the side of chilly compared to overheating. Regarding a sun hat it’s worth remembering that the UV index can sometimes be high even on a cloudy day but with such a young baby I wouldn’t expect them to be spending much, if any, time in the direct sun anyway.
