My sons 2nd birthday

Because of the 6 people outdoors thing I am wanting to throw a little party for my boys 2nd birthday but there is one problem... the theme... so he doesn’t have the patience for hey duggee, bing, peppa pig, Thomas the tank engine and all the popular kids shows or movies and he doesn’t really play with anything but his fisher price “little people” so the theme is stressing me out. I feel so bad he’s missed out on so much I just want him to have a good day. So can anyone help with a theme for a 2 year old boys birthday party??

Does it really need a theme? Confused

If you really want one - what does he like? Dinosaurs? Dogs? Farm animals? Cars? ...

My DS will be 2 in June and I have bought tractor decorations and have ordered a tractor cake for him.

I would just keep it very simple like that if they dont have a massive interest in tv shows.

maybe a dress up party? one of my son’s had this as a ‘theme’ and we had kids come as doctors, builders, princesses, pirates... even the adults dressed up. and then we just had rainbow coloured banners and plates and stuff.

Pirate theme? I've seen a few jungle themed party pictures on social media recently.

Surely a generic theme would work e.g jungle, farm, animals, Teddy bears picnic etc?

Moonshine11 · 16/05/2021 15:17

What’s his favourite toy?

CurryLover55 · 16/05/2021 15:18

Teddy Bears Picnic is always good. I think when they’re so tiny, it doesn’t really matter.

The theme is “party” and he’ll have a good day (and also some overexcited tantrums) because presents, people, cake, party tea with hula hoops to stick on his fingers and stripy jelly and birthday cake and singing and candles, and running around the garden. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about trying to theme it; food and people and the occasion is excitement enough.

He doesn't need a theme! Just get some balloons, cake, candle, bunting... It's not a big deal!

Exactly this!

There's millions of themes you could use without resorting to TV shows - farm, jungle, pirates, rainbows, dinosaurs, fairies, space... we did the tiger who came to tea for DD2s birthday as it was lockdown and all we could have was a little tea party with her brother. We had themed food and tiger themed games, I painted their face as tigers, then we went for a walk outside in the dark and came home and had sausage and chips for tea. DD thought it was hilarious
