Order of things in the morning

I know that everyone has their own morning routines but I'm just curious as to what other people do! Normally I get up with DS (6 months old) give him his milk and then give him a nice wash with warm water cotton wool, let him have a bit of naked time and then get him ready for the day. This morning however we are introducing breakfast (lunch has gone well so far!). But I don't really want to give him his breakfast in his outfit for the day (he is a mucky but enthusiastic eater) so I will give it to him in his pjs and then change him after. But I was thinking to give him his bottle, do a quick nappy change then an hour later give him breakfast, then warm cotton wool wash and then get dressed. What do other people do? X

Just get him ready and put a large bib on him - the ones that cover arms too

When dd was first weaning, we would be up at 6am and she'd have a bottle then breakfast at 7am, all while still in her sleepsuit.
If breakfast was messy, she'd have a bath. If not, she'd get dressed for the day after her morning nap.

The bibado bibs are really good at saving clothes from food spills!

I always just got mine up and dressed and then had breakfast later. They'll be eating 3 meals a day in normal clothes and if they get too messy, just change them after.

We do BLW so stripped off to nappy for meals anyway 🤦 - I do nappy change on wake, bottle then breakfast a bit later, then upstairs for wash, teeth and change into day clothes. My 3yo usually gets some jam down his top so he eats breakfast in his PJ's every morning.

purpleme12 · 14/05/2021 10:34

Agree about feeding in pyjamas

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 14/05/2021 10:38

Nappy change on waking, breakfast, then dress (mine breastfed and coslept so they demanded milk on waking!)

My 8yo still has breakfast before dressing... Apparently she needs food to function asap in the morning.

Oh bless you I look back on those times with fondness. My morning usually consists of peeling one child off me so I can get out of bed and have my coffee while stirring porridge making packed lunches and yelling for ds10 to get up. We've always done breakfast in pjs, then wash and brush teeth and get dressed

I’ve always changed my DD’s nappy then give her her bottle, then breakfast an hour later and then I’d get her dressed etc after her morning nap.

Another one with give breakfast in pjs then get dressed. My kids don't get dressed until the very last thing.

PlantDoctor · 14/05/2021 12:24

Bf in our bed, then nappy change, go downstairs in vest she slept in with leggings over the top for breakfast, then upstairs to get dressed for the day.

Abouttimemum · 14/05/2021 13:26

I used to give milk on waking after nappy change, and then breakfast about an hour later. Then changed out of pjs afterwards.

Megan2018 · 14/05/2021 13:32

We did BLW, nappy first then milk (BF). Breakfast in sleepsuit.
Clean up then dressed for the day.

Now DD is bigger (20 months) and at nursery for meals it’s nappy, milk, wrestle in to clothes and brush teeth (this bit takes forever as she runs about causing mayhem). At weekends she still has breakfast in pyjamas as they go in the washing anyway.
Don’t really wash in the day and hated cotton wool. We use cloth wipes and water instead. I’d ditch the cotton wool!

I never washed in the morning other than a quick wipe round faces with a flannel if needed after breakf
