Can we have a support thread?

I'm new here but I'm just wondering if we can have a support thread. Anyone can join with kids of any age. I'm a young mum to a now 5 month old little boy and because of lockdown I haven't met any other mums or spoken to anyone with a similar aged child. I also found out I was pregnant just after we went into lockdown, he was unplanned but from when I found out I was pregnant I wanted to keep him and luckily my partner has been supportive.

I also apologise if this isn't in the correct place.

I’d happily join😊 I’m a single mum of a 1 year old and I’m expecting my 2nd next month

I have a five month old too! I’ll join in - the more the merrier when it comes to support.

Mine has just slept through the night for the first time in weeks. He had a phase of sleeping brilliantly from about 8 weeks to 16 weeks when he would sleep through the night, but then we hit the 4 month sleep regression hard and he’s been a terrible sleeper since. I’m praying this is the start of him coming out of that!

Hi, I’ll join please. My little girl is almost 4 months old. She sleeps really well at night at the moment but terrible at naps through the day which means she’s so grumpy by around 5pm until bedtime. Definitely not complaining but for her sake I’d love her to nap better.

Hi everyone, I'm also a young mum to a 6 month old. He sleeps through but only due to co-sleeping, hoping to get him into his cot soon! Smile

Hi, I’m a ftm to a four month old boy. Having good nights at the moment, but naps in the day are a struggle as someone else mentioned it’s for their benefit cos he gets so tired. I’m sad seeing him grow so quick, time goes so fast doesn’t it! But I love seeing him change and learn new things.

Hello everyone!

My little boy didn't really suffer from the sleep regression at 4 months apart from a couple of unsettled nights. He also struggles with naps though, he'll only sleep in his pushchair or on me as he hates his cot in the day for some reason! But the problem is I usually go for a walk and he's in his pushchair and he falls asleep but as soon as we get home he's awake so he doesn't really have a long nap so he gets very grumpy and hates bathtime.

Hi, I have a 3.5month old. Night sleep pretty good. Daytime napping a bit hit and miss.

What activities / getting out and about are people doing? We go out for one or two walks a day. Sometimes meet a friend, hopefully have more visitors soon. But otherwise that's about it! My OH is working from home so at least I have company. Feel like I should be doing more, but I tend to let baby routine take priority and stay in. Think I'm a bit obsessed with getting her naps...

@Demonocat sounds very familiar! My LO always wakes up round the corner from the house. Don't know how she knows! We often have tears at bedtime, last night she was awake for 3hrs before bed. Definitely overtired, but so hard to get those extra naps in!

Hello! We go out daily for a walk and since lockdown restrictions have eased, I've met a couple of friends as they wanted to meet him and they couldn't when he was born as he was only about 3 weeks when we went into lockdown. My boyfriends work depends on the weather so he's been home most of this week so he's been taking son for a bit to let me have a rest.

Last night we put him down and he was fine but he woke up at about 9 and he was crying but he didn't need changed or fed but he didn't go back to sleep until about midnight, he was very smiley though! He then woke up at about 5:30 which is unusual so he definitely needs a nap today or else he'll be very grumpy by bedtime.

@Demonocat poor you, I think you'll both need a nap today! Does he wake up overnight or sleep through?

What do people think about baby groups / classes? I've started looking in to them now lockdown is easing. Lots of them are fully booked. Not sure if 3 months is still a bit early? Maybe better once baby is a bit older?

Minniemoo60 · 14/05/2021 10:39

We go for a daily walk too, been visiting my mom who is in our under 1 bubble and met up with friends outside. We have a farm nearby that is cheap to get into so been there. We have started going swimming which he loves! I’ve signed up to a sensory baby class for their wait list if I get on he will be five months. I thought my little boy was too young at three months, I think the main benefit is for the Moms to meet others. But he is more aware of things now so think he will enjoy it more.
