1 month old slept. Too long?

Hi FTM here!
1 month old DS slept for 6.5 hours last night before waking for a feed again (I set my alarm for 6 hours since his last feed as a just in case as my health visitor said to let him wake himself for feeds but don't go longer than 6-8 hrs).
I know people will be telling me to thank my lucky stars that he's sleeping but I don't want him to lose weight.
We made him a 5oz bottle at 8.30pm where he drank 2oz and then drank another 1.5oz at 9.30pm (had to deal with griping pains first). So
I'm just a little worried that it's too long for him at this stage. Or should I stop being so silly and go with his lead? He's drinking between 600-700ml in a 24 hr period which I think is roughly on target for his age?
I'm not even sure if my alarm woke him or he would have woke himself up anyway

As long as he is well (no temp, alert when awake and your getting enough wet and dirty nappies) then it’s fine to leave him. If he starts sleeping longer regularly then you can ask your HV to weigh him just for your piece of mind.

I was given the advice that you should stop waking baby for feeds once they have regained their birth weight, which should hopefully be within ten days. I remember asking a midwife if I could stop waking DD and she practically laughed in my face. So long as baby’s weight is fine, just enjoy the sleep!

I absolutely know the feeling. DS was 7 weeks when he started reliably sleeping for about 8 hours. He had previously been on a feeding plan so was woken every 3 hours. Our HV said as he had gained well there was no need to wake him but the first time he did it I nearly fell out of bed checking on him. He started drinking more through the day to make up for anything he missed during the night and is now a perfectly healthy weight toddler. Speak to your HV to put your mind at rest but I would imagine everything is fine.

@Fitforforty thank you. No temp, plenty of wet nappies. He tends to poo every 1-2 days. Fontanelle looks ok too so not dehydrated. Health visitor is coming today actually but just worried that he won't get weighed again for a while after today and he's only just started to sleep this long. I'll speak with her today and see if she wouldn't mind coming out again in a couple of weeks just to check

@Bancha thank you. It's funny because my midwife came out on day 10 and said to wake him every 3-4 hours (even though he had regained his weight. He was 7lb5oz at birth. He only lost 40g on day 5 and then weighed 7lb9oz on day 10). Then health visitor came on day 11 and said not to wake him! So I just went with her advice. HV coming again today but just worried that it won't reflect if he's losing weight because he's sleeping more as he's only just started sleeping longer overnight. I'll speak with her and she can visit again a couple of weeks

@Mylittlesandwich thank you. Yes this is exactly how I reacted. I thought something might have been wrong as he hasn't slept that long before. It was 5 hours the night before so didn't need my alarms to wake me. HV coming today so will see what his weight is and see what she advises

Honestly I do remember having the same worries myself, but it is rare for babies to lose weight and not take enough milk. Trust yourself and your baby. You will be able to tell if he’s losing weight or if there is something wrong.

And congratulations, by the way Flowers

@Bancha that's reassuring. Thank you! He is definitely a growing boy and seems to be chunking out quite nicely and no longer looking like a spring chicken 😂 so we shall see what he weighs today 🤞🏼
