Fussing at bottle?

Hi, my baby has been combi fed from birth but over the last two weeks has been fussing taking the bottle. He will push it out his mouth, lick it, close his gums so I can't get it in even though I know he is hungry. He will do this for a good couple of minutes before he will finally take it, finishing the bottle so proving he was hungry! Any ideas why he is suddenly doing this? The test size is right for him as he's not taking ling to finish the bottle or fussing once he's drinking it. Just the initial taking of the bottle he's suddenly being a bit difficult with! Appreciate any possible reasons why people think he might be doing this!

My baby girl is nearly 11 weeks and she was taking the first part of bottle then fussing like you describe over second half. This went on for a couple of weeks then I asked HV to weigh her again and she'd only gained a couple of oz in two wks, turned out to be silent reflux making her not want to take bottle. We switched her to comfort formula which seems to have settled it 🤞maybe worth a chat with your HV?

@HungryHippo20 thanks for your reply, he has had silent reflux from birth but it seemed to have improved massively over the last few weeks. We stopped giving him his medicine and I can't hear him gulping down his sick anymore and he has no issues on his back like he did before. So didn't cross me mind it could be reflux related! After he does finish the bottle he is fine, happy and alert or falls asleep and doesn't seem in discomfort. I've got HV coming Thursday so will ask! Thanks!

How old is he? DD started doing this and turned out to be due to teething pain. We switched to a softer brand of teat and saw a massive improvement, though things are only really fully sorting themselves out now that the "push" is starting to end.

She has/had all teething signs - dribbling, flushed cheeks, grabbing her cheeks, crankiness, shoving whatever she can into her mouth, etc.

@CoalCraft he's three months but one month premature so really developmentally 2 months. I did wonder re teething but seemed so early! He has started to dribble lots and eats his hands all the time! He isn't grabbing or holding things yet to stuff those in his mouth. I thought it was just that he found his hands tho as seems early for teething and no other signs?
