Poorly after one year jabs

DS had his one year jabs Wednesday. He was fine Wednesday, apart from a slight temperature, and slept all the way through. However, since waking up Thursday he's not been himself and has been quite poorly. Temperature of 37.5, cough, sore throat and runny nose. Is this normal after one year jabs? He was perfectly fine after the others when he was a baby. The nurse said he may feel a little poorly 5 days after but not right away 🙁 going to ring the doctors tomorrow but thought I'd check here in the meantime? He's so very sad and isn't sleeping either.

To add, he's also quite wheezy when he breath. You can hear it on his chest 🙁

Mine had his 1 year jabs recently and had similar, but just slept most of the day after the jabs. Kept taking his temperature but was never above 37.5. After 3 days of tlc and calpol he was much better. Although he seemed to have a cold simultaneously too as was quite snotty. Hope your little one gets better soon - keep taking the temperature and call nhs111 if in any doubt.

My friend's little one was really really poorly after his one year jabs last month. I'm dreading mine having hers soon!

Oh yes. I'm very sorry hun, it's brutal isn't it? Mine had hers two weeks ago and I'm sorry to say that she wasn't right for about a week. She had a fever for a few days, then on day six she got the rash and was clearly feeling rotten with it.

I am very pro vaccines so I'm not complaining in that sense, but it seems a bit mean to me that they have all those shots in one go. It used to be that these shots were divided into two over a couple of months, but now they do it all at once. It's SEVEN different diseases your little one is trying to work out and fight off. It's a lot. I'm convinced that if we had to have them as boosters as adults (being able to communicated our feelings and complain) there is no way they'd get away with doing it all at once!

I know the NHS is pushed these days and is doing its best... it's just not nice for the little ones.

I hope yours is feeling better soon. Lots of mummy cuddles xx
