Is there any point trying to sell pre owned baby clothes?

I'm finally forcing myself to have a clear out and have loads of baby clothes from when my little boy was younger.
Is there any point in trying to sell them on? They're in very good condition and have been vacuum packed. If so, what is the best method for selling them?
Its a bit of an emotional experience as I'm finding it hard letting go of that phase of my life, so I'd rather get rid of them quickly

I’ve bought bundles of baby clothes on Ebay Smile

Especially things like white vests and sleep suits etc.

Fb marketplace is your friend.

Another vote for Facebook

Yep Facebook. Local selling pages. If there's any branded stuff there's sometimes designated selling pages - Tony tiger / Frugi etc.

Another vote for fb. Ive bought most of my DS clothes off marketplace. They won'y be up for long

BertieBotts · 06/05/2021 17:04

Yes definitely.

Vinted if you want to sell one by one/get the most money for them, and don't mind dealing with a hundred different packages.

Facebook marketplace into bundles by size and season, if you want them gone quickly.

Horehound · 06/05/2021 17:05

Yes but not if your looking for a decent amount of money really. Like of it's designer stuff it won't go for much.

BertieBotts · 06/05/2021 17:06

Do check them over - I find baby clothes that have been in storage tend to develop yellow stains which I think is from milky puke - it just washes easily out, but doesn't look very nice if you're not expecting it. It can be worth washing them all freshly as well so they have a nice washing powder smell rather than stale storage smell. But you don't have to do this.

Facebook marketplace, no fees and is helpful for someone

Checkingout811 · 06/05/2021 17:09

You could give them to a charity.

Magenta999 · 06/05/2021 17:10

Brilliant, thanks for the help. I'd rather bundle them up and get them gone sooner. I feel awful going through them to be honest!

I've sold all of DS's clothes as he's outgrown them. As a buyer, I don't like bundles because I won't always like every single piece in the bundle. I listed each item individually on eBay and accepted the guided start price for each item that eBay suggested. I put postage at second class with a note that I'd combined postage for multiple purchases at a total of £4 for second class signed for delivery.

For each size bundle of clothes, I would get around £200 in total, paying around £80 out in postage.

We had most of our clothes from Next which seemed to re-sell very well. Other brands of clothes we had went for less.

You could get a teddy or blanket made with the most special baby clothes.

Facebook and a site called baby bundle, price them cheaper than you think if you want rid quick, and sort them into age bundles. I've found people ate less likely to buy 1 big bundle at £30 of a total mix, and more likely to buy a £5 bundle of 0-3 sleepsuits for instance

ObsidianRavenMcBovril · 07/05/2021 01:45

FB marketplace but you might fare better selling individually or grouping things together like vests, sleepsuits etc or by brand. I bought loads of stuff for my daughter from there but only individual items.
I too am having a hard time getting rid of her baby stuff. All her newborn things are stored in a box because I just can't bear the thought of getting rid of them. The 0-3m stuff was easier - I bagged it up and gave it to a friend who is expecting x
