Hi
My DD has started with eczema and has scratched her chest silly over night.
I've been looking for vests with built in mitts but they only seem to go up to 6 months.
Does anyone know of anywhere that does bigger sizes please?
Thanks :)

DD has these. Lovely quality. Maybe other m&s vests will have scratch mittens too?

Skinnies are specialist excema clothing with built in mitts, they help with skin not drying out overnight - have you see the gp for steroid cream to get it under control? X

Ah thank you, in the description it says "with scratch mitts up to 3 to 6 months." I think she'll just pull scratch mitts right off ☹️

Oh great I'll have a look! Thank you I'd not heard of them. I've got aproderm and aveeno. I've got steroid cream but I really don't want to use it. Obviously I will if needed. I'm very new to this. At what point would you use steroid cream?
@Poppy709

Please don't flame me I'm a FTM and new to eczema.

@squirrelnutkins1 we used scratchsleeves and they're fab as they have silk from wrist to fingers so doesn't do damages when they scratch. Hope you get sorted soon. Eczema is no fun.

@squirrelnutkins1 they do up to toddler and pyjama sizes for older kids as well.

@squirrelnutkins1 have you seen your GP? That should be your first port of call as you want to get the eczema under control as soon as possible so baby doesn't start scratching. How old is your baby and did this start after weaning?

At that age I put socks in his hands when he slept.

Another vote for scratchsleeves. A real game changer. I bought the crossover version with Velcro from their actual site. I also bought the size up to get longer wear out of them.

Thanks so much they look great will order one tomorrow when I've measured her 'wingspan'!
She's seen the GP and has been prescribed cream and I've seen a pharmacist today who gave me some helpful tips.
She's not scratched tonight so here's hoping!
Thanks again Smile

Of course no one will flame you! Honestly in my experience, don’t be afraid of steroid cream. What are your concerns with it? I was worried about thinning my babies skin but my GP is a dermatology specialist and really reassured me - excema left untreated will do a lot more damage to your baby’s skin than steroid cream. If it’s that bad it’s causing your baby to itch honestly I think you will need to use steroid to clear it. We have tried everything with my baby’s excema and a course of strong steroids is the only thing that can get it under control. You need to use the steroids for a few days after it’s cleared completely and then wean off - every other day, then twice a week or you will get a bounce back reaction. Once it is under control salcura bio skin junior is good for keeping it away but it’s quite expensive. You really have my sympathy, excema is such a pain. Oh also you can get the skinnies clothing on prescription!
