6 months to 12 months - What should I be doing?

I'm about to begin weaning. Once we've established 3 meals a day, I plan to attend baby classes. We go for a walk daily. Outside of his naps and feeds it’s jumperoo, bouncer, play mat, a bit of TV (is this really all that bad, I genuinely do not know as he loves it). I hope on weekends to take him to farms/zoos etc and when restaurants open to take him to those. Outside of this is there anything else I should be doing for his development or just in general? Otherwise I picture the next 6 months to be very repetitive on a daily basis which I don’t mind, I just wondered if there are some vital things I am missing. E.g anything to help him with walking etc or just things that baby’s love?

Sounds great to me!
Plenty of exposure to things he’ll take it all in!
My LO loves his baby classes, also soft play! They have a baby section.
If you google asq 12 month this will show you the questions asked at his one year and you’ll see the skills etc so they are things you can work on as he gets older

I wouldn't bother with anything that costs a fair bit like the zoo or a farm (unless you've got an enthusiasm for them) - they don't really get it until after 2 in my experience and even then mine is always more excited by the playground. The fish section at the garden centre is just as exciting as any aquarium. We were regular visitors to the animals at Pets@home at one point. Grin

Lots of floor time to encourage those gross motor skills, treasure baskets have been a big hit here, as have anything real world - so the kitchen cupboards are great fun. We do a couple of classes a week and it's great for getting to meet other parents, I still talk to lots of mum friends from classes I went to with my eldest.

Do you read to him? I think this is a nice thing for all ages.
