My baby is 6 months old, the last couple of weeks he’s started having some purées (Ellas pouches) he’s had a variety of fruits and veg, some mixed with baby rice and he’s also tried some baby porridge and he’s been getting on really well with them and really enjoying them! This is my 3rd baby but I can’t remember exactly what I did with my last two, should I start with meats and dairy about now too so he’s having a bit more of an all round diet rather than just fruit and veg. I know I stuck with purée food for a good while gradually making it less purée, that seemed to work well with other too. Any advice and memory joggers welcome! Don’t you just love baby brain when you can’t remember much at all about what and when you did things with previous babie

Yes, meat and dairy is fine from 6 months.
Perhaps start with mince and mash based meals, such as shepherds pie. My dc also loved fish pie from an early age and this recipe is suitable for babies www.mummycooks.com/blogs/recipes/mini-fish-pies
Rice-based meals would also be a good step up from purées. Perhaps start with risotto www.nhs.uk/start4life/weaning/recipes-and-meal-ideas/fish-risotto-with-peas/

You need to start giving ironing foods, fingers foods and regularly giving the top 12 allergens now.

That should be iron rich. Please don’t iron food, it’s bad enough ironing clothes. The NHS website is really helpful.
