Hi ladies...
my daughter (6 years old), has taken an interest in knowing how babies are born and why I have gotten so fat (I'm 6 months pregnant).. I've tried to tell her that she will soon be a big sister and there is her baby brother in my stomach, but whenever I bring it up she starts kicking me... Advice?
Secondly, she's gotten an interest in swearing and saying some bad words and whenever I try to talk to her she tells me to f-off and tells me all of the kids say it.
Sorry, I am new at all of this, anyone got any suggestions? 😊

She kicks you and swears at you at 6? What punishments does she get for that?

Kicking you and swearing at you at 6 is shocking behaviour - what punishments are in place when she does this??

FelicityPike · 22/04/2021 18:48

I assume there’s punishments for these abhorrent behaviours?

Discipline her like you would for anything else.

Time out, things taken away, ignore her when she's not nice etc.

Is the kicking because she's jealous and she doesn't want a sibling? Same consequences apply, but little chats about how she's feeling and reassurance are also needed.

Consequences, OP, consequences.

Kind legs. Do I ever kick you? Then you don't kick me. We don't kick people, ever. If you kick me again, _ will happen.

Then you follow through on the stated consequence. Always follow through and never offer a consequence that you're not comfortable with following through on.
