How to prepare powder formula on the go

We’ve recently moved DS onto formula but he doesn’t like the ready made stuff so we need to start using the powder formula which is fine when we are home but will be a pain when we are out and about.
How can we make up feeds for when we are out and about?
Can I make up a few in advanced, leave them in the fridge until we leave, keep them in a cool bag and then use a bottle warmer to warm them?
Or do I need to do the whole boiling water from a thermos flask then cooled boiled water and the individually measured powder dispensers?

You can either take hot water and premeasured powder or take chilled milk that you have prepared earlier. Make it up with hot water, cool and put it in the fridge for an hour or so before you leave. If its in a cool bag with ice packs it's OK for 4 hours.

Every morning I boil the kettle with fresh water, measure out 4oz of boiled water and store in a small Tupperware dish.
Pour more boiled water into a small thermos flask.
Measure 6oz of formula into a container.

When out and about and need a bottle, pour 2oz of the water from the thermos into the bottle, add powdered formula, and shake, then topped up with the cooled 4oz of water in the Tupperware. This gives me a 6oz bottle at the perfect temp. I prepare first thing every morning so that if I need to go out I can just grab it in a hurry. It sounds like a faff but it really isn’t!

Thanks for the advice! I have some Tommy tippee insulated bottle bags - would they work keeping the milk cold enough or would I need ice packs?
Also what ratio of hot to cold water is needed? I imagine it depends on the total oz - he has about a 4oz feed - would it be 1 hot to 3 cold?

For a 5 oz feed I used to pre fill the bottles with boiled water up to 3oz in the morning.

When out id ask in a coffee shop for boiling water to take it up to 5oz and then add the powder.

I found breast milk storage bags great for taking pre measured formula powder out and about.

It was a pain for sure.

@WongSiewTin I think 1 hot to 3 cold would be fine. Also if you’re going anywhere where you know there will be a kettle, friends/family’s houses etc you don’t need the thermos so just a tub of cooled water to top up the bottle.

The key is to add the boiling water to the formula so it sterilises the formula. Whether you do that in advance and then cool and store in an insulated bag for up to 4 hours OR you prepare it when out with the boiling water that's up to you.

Both my boys have been on formula since they were born and we've always given them room temp milk.
We have the milk separators so we measure out the powder and pour the water from the kettle into the bottles and pack them. When we are out we just pour the powder in the bottle and shake then feed.
We do this at night too with my youngest. So much easier then having to go downstairs and make a bottle in the middle of the night.

Remember when you are making up formula on when out and about this way you need to make sure the cold water is pre- measured before you pour it into the bottle because the formula powder will increase the over all volume in the bottle. Making bottles out and about is a bit of a faff so if you haven’t already I would try some of the other brands of ready made formula to see if he will accept them.

I always just used the cooled water and added powder to it when needed.
