My 9 week old DS is teething. I wasn't sure at first but after a really unsettled couple of days, red cheeks, dribbling and chewing his hands, I can now see a little pointy tooth trying to break through Sad

Has anyone had this at this age and what did you give?

I had some Calpol that I had to get for his vaccinations last week which I've given him a dose of this evening as I can't leave him suffering but am concerned about giving regular doses at 2 months.

Going to nip up to the chemist tomorrow but any recommendations please?

My ds was like this. Very early teether.
We gave teething granuals and used dentinox teething jel to run on his gums.

Eating hands can also be a developmental thing at this age though so be aware it's not always a sign of teething. My dd is 12 weeks and currently doing the same but I'm confident it's not teeth related with her

Anbesol is good you rub in on their gums, not sure if you can use it on such young babies but they’ll know at the chemist. It mainly alcohol with lidocaine. This time I’ve just rubbed a bit of whiskey on its weaker and cheaper.
The teething gels are good but it’s difficult to get the gel to stay on the gum long enough to work.
I’ve had no success with teething powders.
The rattles toys that go in the freezer work, my dd has a chewy baby toothbrush that seems to help. DS liked the tooth brush as well. www.kidly.co.uk/products/brushbaby/my-first-brush-and-teether-set/1762?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=surfaces&gclid=Cj0KCQjw38-DBhDpARIsADJ3kjk_IiU4j6O6ipLn9jg4jIaVtU9Ud6DiAzTIDO3Xl9M63Ld66NvLockaAuvCEALw_wcB

Thank you, I'm going to try and speak to the pharmacist as well in the morning and see if they have any suggestions. I'm just cautious that he's still so young when it comes to medications but I can't do nothing either if he's in pain.

Yes I wasn't sure myself as I know they chew hands anyway but there is 100% a tooth there, it's pointing out of his gum and feels quite sharp bless him.

Thanks. I've got a teether toy that has water in which goes in the fridge but he's just too young to even know what to do with it, he can't hold things properly yet so I have to hold it in his mouth.
