hi. does anyone have any advice about a stairgate that an toddler can open easily. my ds2 is about to crawl-possibly(is 1year and a day so i live in hope)-soon and i really need a stairgate ds1 aged nearly 4 can open himself as he will get very annoyed if not able to roam around house as usual. ds1 not the type to try repeatedly to get something to work- if its not easy will just give up!!any ideas?

Ds1 has been able to open lindam ones since the age of 3. Or, my Mum has one of those basic ones that you just lift the gate then open it, which he found a bit harder, but got the hang of it.
The lindam one was invaluable in the hall, to stop ds2 getting to the stairs and toilet, while still allowing ds1 to go for a wee without having to ask to be let through.

we love the lindan one too, but my 4.5 year old can only open it if he's got a friend round! He reckons it takes one to move the catch and one to lift/oen the gate!

(clearly not as advanced as your wee one, mustrunmore!)

Agree with the posting Lindham works for our near three year DS1. Only problem is he tends to open it whilst DS2 is hanging from it and there once was a scary moment as it swung over the stairs with DS2 clinging for dear life.

Back to normal now .

A little bump for you.

I looked at the roller ones in mothercare, they were quite expensive iirc. Have no idea how they opened or shut.

I'm sure someone here will have them.

I have a rollerbrlind one - I think a toddler would struggle to open it - my mum does as they are quite fiddly. They're also expensive but I got mine on Ebay.
