4 month old baby not feeding well

Hi,

I have a baby girl who is 19 weeks and she suddenly stopped feeding when she turned 4months old. She’s had a tough journey as she was diagnosed with cows milk protein allergy, had reflux and still has eczema.

The GP changed her milk to pepti which she stayed on for like two months and then the dietician changed her milk again to similac elcare which helped with her reflux but after couple of weeks she went off feeding.

She used to have above 1000ml in 24 hour period which has now come down to 600-700ml. Feeding her this amount is a struggle and she is never hungry or wanting her milk desperately.

Generally she is herself, playful etc. Is struggling with her day time naps but sleeps throughout the night from 7pm to 8pm.

I am really worried about her feeding as she is not gaining enough weight and has dropped to the 25th centile from the 75th

Any advice?

There is a really good Facebook CMPA group which should be helpful.

Offer different teats. Your DD may prefer one material (rubber, silicone etc.) over another. Also experiment with different flow rates. Generally speaking, a slow flow teat is good to start with, since she might get overwhelmed by the volume let through by a faster flow teat.
If you have been warming up her milk, then try serving it colder. Likewise, if you haven’t been warming it, then try it.
Is she getting distracted? Even the Tv, another child or a pet can be distracting.

Hi thank you for replying.

I have switched from NUK to MAM and I have also tommee tippee ones too but no change. In terms of distraction, Ive tried feeding her with and without the tv but nothing works. In the end i just have to struggle and feed her with distracting her with nursery rhymes or hand movements etc.

Nothing seems to work and I’m worried sick.
