Weaning books

Any tips on a good book I can get that explains weaning and has tips?

FTM and no idea where to start! Looking for something that explains the process and maybe gives a weekly/monthly guide of what to give, how much, etc. Of course I know it won't be exact as all baby's are different!

We can see this thread is quite old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for weaning books, we’ve recently updated our best weaning books page with plenty of great options tried and tested by Mumsnet parents. We hope you find it useful. MNHQ Flowers

What do you want to do puree and finger food (more faffy in my experience) or blw?

Gill Rapley Baby Led Weaning is brilliant
It’s all I needed although I did use a recipe app too.

Annabel Karmel’s book Weaning Made Simple has been great for us. Also signed up to Ella’s kitchen which gives you a free chart, little book and regular emails.

Weaning Made Easy by Rana Conway is very accessible and has example plans. It explains both the BLW and traditional puree routes and avoids any kind of zealous commitment to either. I found it very helpful.

I second this. It told me all I needed. She also does a cook book and I got the River Cottage baby cook book too for extra ideas.

Annabel Karmel is great. Do you have Instagram? There are loads of people to follow on there: sj nutrition ( works with Joe Wicks), what mummy makes, babyledeating.

Im a big fan and advocate for BLW, but definitely do your research on which method or combo of methods you prefer. As others have said Gill Reaply's book is great.
I don't think you'll find much about portion size though. It's just trial and error with your child. I give my child double what I think or hope she'll eat as 90% of the time she'll throw at least half of it on the floor.

Recipe books though - What Mummy Makes BLW weaning recipes have been amazing for us. We do them for every family meal, so easy, balanced and delicious. She has an active fb and Instagram page too

Agree with Gill Rapley's book. What mummy makes is also a great recipe book for quick and easy recipes.
