Quick question for this morning, baby slept late do I skip morning nap?

Morning, I’m not at all complaining that my baby slept 13.5 hours last night and woke at 8.30 am. Thing is today we have planned to meet a friend and her baby at 11.30am. Normally my baby would nap at 10 am after walking at 7 ish but we will need to be driving at 10.30. Would you still offer 10 am nap or attempt sleep in the car (this is rare) or go without? I’m reluctant to change plans if possible

I would let them sleep in car or pram or whatever, I would never cancel plans for a nap

Just go off normal wake windows to save an over tired baby. You might have to shorten the last nap to save bedtime.

Sleep in car or pram for sure.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 29/03/2021 08:54

Id go for a sleep in the car. I realised I didnt actually answer the question!

Wow your baby is so good! Did she sleep 13.5 hours straight? You could skip the morning nap or just let her sleep in the car if she’s tired.

Brewupmama · 29/03/2021 08:55

I would stick to your plans..
A quick nap in the car would be ok if baby will do that. If not just put them down for the afternoon nap earlier maybe?
I was a stickler for nap times but sometimes you have to tweak them
Good luck

I'd do a nap in the car. The clock change is a nightmare with small kids!

Itsnoteasyfeelingqueasy · 29/03/2021 09:34

@AyyX yes 13.5 hrs straight, normally it’s 12 hours and I let her wake up naturally as I’m still on maternity leave, I think the clock change has made her sleep longer!

Thanks all. I think we will leave home at 10.30 and have a longer drive there so she has a chance to sleep if she needs too. I’m hoping she won’t get desperately over tired if she misses the nap as she’s sleep so much over night! These situations are new for us as we have rarely had any plans due to COVID. Consequently she’s an excellent napper in her cot at home but out and about is unknown x
