Breastfeeding while pregnant

Does anyone have any experience of this? DD will be 19 months when second baby arrives, I would expect to have stopped breastfeeding before then but are there benefits / disadvantages either way? Would the new baby still get colostrum if supply is already established?
Thanks

I was still breastfeeding my 3 year at bedtime........ the milk changed taste in the lead up to giving birth he said but didnt bother him at all. So colostrum is produced as normal. He was feeding nightly at the beginning of the pregnancy but 1 every couple of days/ weeks at the end.

He only fed a handful of times with new baby- more for reassurance I think. I would recommend eating and drinking lots in pregnancy as you are feeding yourself, growing baby AND producing milk. I found staying hydrated an issue with morning sickness. It really helped with adjusting to a new sibling in my experience. X

I breastfed through my pregnancy and beyond ended up tandem feeding. I found I didn't have to wait for my milk to come in. My milk changed just before birth to a more yellow colour but after birth about 12 hours I had the hard boobs. Baby lost hardly any birth weight. Still feeding youngest now. This will be my 4th year bf. Thinking about weaning soon.
